IMPORTANT INFO for the END of the SCHOOL YEAR.....


Escanaba Junior High Students and Parents: June 5th, 6th, & 9th are 1/2 days of school for EJHS with Early Release at 11:55 a.m. 

No bussing will occur until 2:30 pm- please arrange transportation home for your child. 

Due to Exam days on the final three days of school, Jr. High students will have lunch at 11:25 a.m. and will be dismissed at 11:55 a.m. each of the three days. 

There will be no bus transportation at dismissal time, so students should arrange transportation home or may walk/bike at that time. 

We will have a homework work room for students who need to finish up incomplete class work (must be arranged with the teacher) and an attendance make up room for students who have exceeded the attendance point policy. 

All other students will leave upon dismissal at 11:55 a.m. Thank you for your help in these efforts.

EHS Announcements

1. Student Council applications are due by the end of the day.

2. The Senior Athletic Awards Program will be held next Wednesday at 5 pm right before the Senior Banquet. It is for all senior athletes who have earned a varsity athletic E in their high school career. Parents and family members are invited.

3. 10th and 11th grade Boys that are interested in playing basketball are expected to attend the meeting during lunch in Mr. Hanson’s room. 9th Grade boys will meet during their lunch in Coach Hudson’s room.

4. Business Professionals of America is having a meeting on Wednesday after school in room C 101 for those interested in becoming a member next year. To attend this meeting, you must have been in a business class or plan on being in a business class next school year. 8th graders who have signed up for business class are welcome to attend. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Lehto.

5. If you are a senior interested in applying for an apprenticeship as a heavy equipment operator or technician, stop in Student Services for information by the end of the week.

6. DNR Hunter Safety Classes will be offered at the Fairgrounds this weekend and again July. Stop in the office to get more information. These classes fill up quickly so pre-register today.

7. Spanish Club is meeting on Wednesday during both lunches. Chips and salsa will be served.

8. Any student who was in Film Club this year and has not signed the group photo, please get down to Mr. Fleming’s room to do so.
-Film Club is having a special Robin Beauvais Day next Monday. We will be watching the final movie of the year and honoring Robin as the first four-year member of Film Club. Bring $2.00 for pizza!

9. Any student interested in auditioning for next years Chorale must see Mr. Beck this week. Auditions are being scheduled and held now!

10. High School Art Club is having a mandatory meeting after school today.

11. NHS members looking for hours can volunteer to help with the Police Officers memorial here on Thursday or at the concession stand on Saturday at the athletic field. See Mrs. Geyer by tomorrow.
If you are volunteering to work Mr. Potvin’s benefit on Saturday, it would be nice if you would order a Potvin Posse shirt to wear at the benefit. Stop in the Main Office and order yours today.

12. The West parking lot will be closed to all students this Thursday due to the Police Memorial Service that is being held here. All students are asked to park in the North or South parking lots on Thursday.

13. NHS Members: All volunteer hours are due on Friday. Check the sheet outside Mrs. Geyers room. Seniors, if you do not have the required 10 hours turned in, you will not be allowed to wear the stole at graduation.

14. E CLUB:   The Courtyard Clean Up Project is scheduled for tomorrow during 4th hour. Please stop by the main office to sign up and get a list of supplies that are needed. If you are not signed up by lunch hour today, you will not be excused.

Hooray! Hooray! It's the FIRST of MAY!!!

It may be the 1st of May but there's plenty going on!



1. If you are interested in participating in the 2014-2015 Student Council, there are application forms in the office. Fill out your application and return it to the office by the end of the school day on Tuesday, May 13th.  If you have any further questions, see Mrs. Thomas or Mrs. Larrabee.

2. After school Make Up Time is being held in room A 213 today. No excuses will be accepted that you didn’t know about your attendance trouble.

3. Tickets are now available in the Main Office for the Spaghetti Dinner benefit to be held on Saturday, May 17th in honor of Mr. Potvin.  The dinner will be held from 4-7 pm in the EHS Commons. The meal includes spaghetti, salad, desserts and drinks for only $7.00. Show your support for Mr. Potvin and buy a ticket, even if you can’t come.

4. Seniors: The Daily Press is running a special section called Now and Then. If you would like both a baby picture and your senior picture included in the publication, bring the photos to the Daily Press by Monday, May 12th.  They are doing this free of charge.
Seniors: Graduation tickets are available in the Main Office. Get an accurate count from your parents as to how many tickets you will need. At the same time we will be taking reservations for the free Senior banquet, the free Art Club luncheon and senior t-shirt orders. The shirts are $10.00 and must be paid for at the time of ordering.

5. Mo Buddies, a group of role models for the underclassmen, will be meeting next Wednesday during 5th hour. Invitations will be delivered to all of our Buddies by Friday.
Staff and Students: Order your “Potvin’s Posse – Fighting Lymphoma One Cell at a Time” shirt in the office. The cost is $10.00 and all the proceeds will go directly to Mr. Potvin for his medical expenses. Orders will be placed each Friday.

6. Important Announcements for Seniors concerning the yearbook:  If you were given a Senior Highlights sheet, please remember it is DUE TODAY. It’s time for the Senior and Sibling pictures! If you would like to be included, bring $5.00 and your sibling to Mrs. Wiles room, next Wednesday or Thursday during lunch or after school. This is for two days only and the sibling must be a high school student.

7.  The last Lunch with the Pastor for the year will be next Thursday. You must sign up in Student Services.

8. The Lost and Found table is overflowing with items. If you don’t claim your stuff by Friday, it will all be donated to charity.

9. NHS members are needed to help with Special Olympics on Friday night from 6-9 pm. Dinner is included, and you get to hang out with Mr. Lark! What could be better than that? This is a great opportunity for you to get your final few hours done so sign up with Mrs. Geyer today.

There will be a Student Council meeting during lunch today in room A 400.
8th Graders: Hey, if you would like to be part of the Student Council next year go the high school main office and get your application form. All completed applications must be turned in by the end of the day on May 13th.
